It's been a pleasure serving with you...
If Adama and Tigh die, well, let's just say I will not be a happy camper.
Also, I predict I will spend a majority of the next episode crying (it won't be the first time).

Mama's fallen angel...

J thought he was going to have to work late but then he didn't. So we went to Arnie's for dinner and drank wine then came home and watched Bio Zombie (awesome foreign zombie flick!) and drank vodka and cranberries and watched 80's videos (Poison, Bon Jovi, Nelson, Skid Row and the like) on youtube while getting sauced.

This night wins.

(Bonus! For a top gear review of Bio-Zombie hit this!)

Who put the M in Manchester?

Morrissey, that's who!

I wanted to post the new video but, truth be told, I didn't like it very much (wouldn't it be funny if it was really about Paris Hilton?). So I thought I would bring it back to something I did like. The best concert ending ever! These guys got style, the whole lot of 'em.

Watching this video brings me back to when JP and Mike still lived on Macomb St. and J and I went over and got really drunk w/ Mike and watched this concert. That night is definitely filed away in the "one of the best nights ever" folder.

I wish I had a snow mobile or sled of some sort to make my way home with. I think that would be an easier method.

May the good St. Patrick keep me safe :)

I think I need to revisit the Fishers

happiest family ever :)

Tonight's agenda:

borrowed chick flicks from Sarah: check
wine readily available: check
snacks: check
I woke up this morning and it was so nice and sunny. It's hard to believe that by this time tomorrow we will be buried in snow. Sad. I don't mind the cold, but I think I'm ready to be done with the snow (since I am no longer enjoying it from the comfort of our couch).

There's always one...

A class where the teacher wants everyone's opinion about a topic and one annoying middle aged mother who feels the need to relate everything to her children. I would much rather hear what the teacher has to say then listen to stories about your kids...

I love Rushmore...

So my mother frequently hangs out with a group of her girlfriends. They eat, drink, and be merry and what not. Well, I guess for some time now they've been trying to get a group picture taken. Who does my mother beg to take their picture? Moi. My father is out of town and I don't know why she didn't just want to try to use his tripod. So here I am, hiding upstairs like I did when I was a child whenever my parents ever had anyone over (I guess some things never change). I'm waiting to take the picture and trying to get over what a group of late 50's to early 60 year olds all talking sounds like. LOUD (and bordering on inappropriate)! It's funny to think I will sound like that one day...

Dear Buddha,

Where have you gone? What are you doing to our memories? Is life but a dream? What (if anything) are you trying to tell us?

I realize to the outside world that this doesn't make any sense, but it does....

"Tis a gift to be simple, 'tis a gift to be free..."

Talk amongst yourselves

I get to come home tomorrow. That makes me even happier than this picture does :) There's too many Special Agents in my life...

Can we? We'll see!

St. Lawrence County greeted me with partly sunny skies. Not bad, I thought. Put a little smile on my face.

I'm glued to the TV right now (along w/ everybody else here) watching Obama being sworn in. I don't think I've ever watched one of these before.

Lunch: a banana and a pb&j sandwhich. Yum :)

One more class today then starting Daredevil Yellow - some maximum relaxation.

The return of Canton

It feels weird to be back here. Same buildings, same faces, same smells, same everything. Familiar but not home.

Dear Thursday, do come soon! Thankful for the 4 day school week. Scared a little about the online class. I'm an adult (or so I keep having to remind myself), so I'll survive.

16 days of class til my first break :) I guess I can handle that.

Here's to the last one

Making my way back to Canton later today.
Boo...why does my class have to start at 8:30 Monday morning, making me have to leave on Sunday? I've been spoiled these past semesters.

"At 29 you'd think I'd know better..."

The day after tomorrow I start my last semester. Finally, it is happening. These past almost 2 years have gone by so incredibly fast.
I will be 29 by the time I graduate. I feel like everything has been some sort of dress rehearsal all leading up to this. Is that weird? So far so good.
I wonder what the future holds, where we'll end up. I know I've written that before, but it's so close to actually being that I can't help it.
This coming year will be bringing a lot of change our way. Suppose we'll just hang on and enjoy the ride.

In case you were wondering...

It's warmer in Alaska right now than it is in New York State. What gives?

Also, Brendan Fraser seems like a total weirdo.

I AM FREEZING! And I don't usually mind the cold, so this is kind of a big deal. This apartment feels like I might as well still be outside. Oh nicer apartments (hopefully inside a funeral home), please let me find you soon!

I love the look of our apartment just as it starts to get dark. You know, the time right before the lights need to come on.

An episode of Sex and the City and 1 screwdriver has turned me into a semi sentimental something or other...

Today I came across this:

An old picture of my dear friend Laura and I (circa 2001). She has been with me through thick and thin. Through bad break ups and marriage and reckless abandon of summers filled with back country roads and water holes and never ending brews. She has helped shape the spirit I have today. A true loyal companion. Thank you old friend.

I've been sitting here for a while...

...and Poopy is sleeping next to me snoring. It's all I can hear despite the noisy nuances of our apartment (and I love it).

I leave on Sunday...

I've been cherishing every single moment for weeks now.

Todays agenda

My lovely sister once told me to stop holding onto clothes that no longer fit (or that have been taking up room for years w/out being wore). She said they are simply extra baggage weighing me (and my closet) down. Lucky for me she usually says that with her hand out stretched with a bag of old clothes for me from her or her girlfriends.
Thanks to this, I haven't been clothes shopping since, well, I can't remember and I'm not complaining. Her and her friends all dress right up my alley and the thing about hand-me-downs is that they're free, thus saving me some much needed funds while still letting me dress in nice clothes :) Win win, really.
So my plan for today is to go through thine overflowing dresser and (2) closets. Other things on today's to do list:
  • read a bit
  • relax
  • eat a good lunch
  • maybe watch a documentary from the video library or Twin Peaks (having thought about Twin Peaks right now, I already know that's gonna win)
  • play with Yoshi and Pup
If I get to other exciting things, they will be noted. Stay warm folks!

Downtown in the summer...

"I guess Michael beat me to her..." -J.

'Dexter' siblings get married

J's dreams of Deb have just been crushed...

This was our breakfast this morning. Strawberry rhubarb turnovers from a nice local bakery J turned me onto. So delicious, I'm so glad I stopped there yesterday and I can't believe I never have before.

I didn't want to go out today but it looks like I'll run out of coffee if I don't. I'd rather go today since the cold weather outlook makes me think I'll be wanting to hibernate over the next few days. I can't believe I have yet to be bored holding up inside our apartment this past month. I have had so much fun listening to music, watching movies, reading, playing with the kitties...I never want to leave.

...when you ask me if I would like you to make me some hot cocoa, I'm going to say yes...

Sunday, January 11, 2009

Someone wanted to go do laundry with us.

Last night I discovered a book about Bigfoot that J had and decided to give it a read. I found it quite informative. Let me give you an example!
"With all the eyewitness reports on how the Bigfoot looks, moves, and acts, why wouldn't more hunters have shot at them? Perhaps it is because the Bigfoot looks too human."
Yes, I'm sure that's why...

J: What have you been doing in the mornings?
K: I'm too embarrassed to say.
J: Come on, you have to tell me.
K: Well...I've been exercising to my "Sweatin' to the Oldies 2" tape.
J: (laughter) you should definitely be blogging about that!

Yeah, that's right - VHS suckas!
Anything to keep me from feeling like a slug, right?

Speaking of Twin Peaks...

I need help!

You know the commemorative postcards that came with the gold box set? I'm trying to find out what the other ones look like that didn't come with our box set. I'm not having any luck though.

New Years at Bate & Kill's

I brought the tupperware to the "catered" party :)

early on....

no party is complete without cocktail weiners...

j capturing me doing what I do best...

and we're done for the night, with a blur and unsteady hands...

"So this is the new year..."

Leo is such an ass....

Thanks to a picture Bec posted, I've been watching Twin Peaks for a majority of the day.

In honor of the new year...

I resolve to make sure my dirty clothes end up in the hamper instead of in a pile on our bedroom floor right next to the hamper.

It's 4:30...

And this is what I've done so far today (in no particular order) :
  • made Bill a birthday card
  • took down some holiday decorations
  • ate a bagel
  • pet Poopy
  • took a shower
  • got dressed in something other than pajamas
  • stared at Poopy
  • played Mario Kart w/ J
Today is turning out to be pretty good. I love these days. Tonight it's off to Bate & Kill's to celebrate Bill's ##rd birthday. Party time!

Poopy Racer

Today we all watched Speed Racer for the 2nd time. Poopy really got into it. Look for her coming to a track near you!

New Years was pretty awesome. J and I are still enjoying a champagne jam as we speak. You think we'd have had too much after last night, but no, we're hungry for more!
