My dilemma

I bought 2 bottles of champagne. One for here and one for party time. My reasoning was that I wanted to enjoy a mimosa or 2 this afternoon. The dilemma is this: I don't know how to open the bottle and I don't want the cork to go shooting somewhere. I've only seen other people open these bottles...hmmm...what to do, what to do...I mean, I know it probably isn't difficult, but.
Someone wanna come open the bottle for me and then I'll make you a mimosa?

I can't make myself leave the couch...

Last night J and I hung out with people we haven't seen in a while (some of my longest friends to boot). Needless to say, I am a little worse for wear. I think today will consist of watching The Office all day (thanks Bill) and maybe I'll throw in a movie or something. We'll see. Poopy and I are quite comfy on the couch though.

Today is my mom's 60th birthday...

When I was younger I always thought 60 seemed so old, until my parents actually got there. Doesn't seem old anymore. Weird.

Someone gave us a cat for Christmas! Just kidding...
But somebody did send us something and then Yoshi took over the box it came in.

Also, it snowed last night and this morning I shoveled it. After I was done, I made some coffee and put coffee liqueur in it :) A real cup of cheer!
What? I don't have anything else to do except make Christmas cards and watch Christmas movies and play with the kitties and read comics (and believe me, this is not me complaining, I couldn't be happier with this arrangement. Well, I'd be happier if J were home too.).

Kate is the only one (thank you very much!) who did not fight me on this. Tis the season people!

Today I helped my mom decorate the tree at my parents house. I am envious that they can have ornaments. We can not, due to our cats (mainly baby gorilla) treating the Christmas tree as if it were put up for them to chew on and bat at and such. Maybe someday...

Mid week banter

So the masses will have to wait for some pictures. I've taken them but I forgot to put them on my flashdrive. I've been deep in study mode due to the whole finals thing.
The weather got pretty crappy here last night and all the local schools are closed except for the colleges. From where I'm sitting in the library I keep seeing people almost falling outside as they approach the library doors. I don't mean to snicker at their almost misfortune, but I can't believe how many people have slipped in the same spot.
2 finals down, 3 to go. The end is in sight. The weather better allow me to go home on Friday or I will be forced to try figure out how to teleport.

Better late than never. I'm in the thick of finals week so things might be delayed. It's too bad, I should've waited and taken this picture today because then there would be snow. Oh well. 3 more days and then I'm home! Can't wait!!!

31 days of December

Thanks to Amanda (go look at her yummy blog and check out her flickr for the October Project!), I got the idea to take a picture everyday in December because I love this season so so much. I think it will be cool since most of the first half of the month will be pictures from Canton, giving you new and exciting things to see (yeah right)!

I'm kind of depressed being back here though. Only 2 more weeks. I just have to keep telling myself that! All I can think about is watching holiday movies, making greeting cards, listening to Christmas music, and basking in the light of our Christmas tree. I hate being away right now more than anyone could know. Let's see if I can manage to stay the whole week :)

I'm day dreaming about our tree and can't wait to be home...
