LIke A Virgin

Dear Madonna,

Thank you for getting me through another day at FYE. Your Immaculate Collection is simply that. It made me feel a lot better about being at work and let me day dream about being at home singing and dancing in front of the mirror w/ a fake microphone in my hand. I really appreciate your contributions to the world of music (no matter how much my coworkers did not appreciate you today). Thanks again!

p.s. I really enjoyed singing along to Like A Virgin while the 5 year old was standing next to me with her parents :)

Candy Cane Lip Balm

You have served me well and I am sad to see you go. You lasted me 8 months...I can only hope that I find your counter part, Nutcracker Cookie, (that I seemed to misplace before the snow stopped falling) somewhere in a winter coat pocket.

You were my favorite...

Grrr Argh!

I hate that I have to work at 4. I've wasted this whole day waiting to go to work. Sitting around waiting for the inevitable. I wish J was home with me. I love my alone time, but jeez, this is getting ridiculous! My eyes have started playing tricks on me, I keep thinking I see bugs crawling on things. Maybe it's because I killed an ant earlier.

Hahahaha, sorry about this...I just re-read what I had wrote and I am realizing that I am really bringing the "boring" to this....oh's better than watching soap operas :)

Sex and the City...

So I'm watching Sex and the City and it's the one where Miranda has chocolate instead of sex...and I totally want an eclair or cake or something.....

I guess I'll have to settle for an oatmeal cookie....maybe this weekend I'll bake a cake or go out and get an eclair...maybe...

Spider-man Loves Mary Jane

So excited about this! I've been reading this since it first came out and I'm very much looking forward to Terry Moore taking this over!

Also, I absolutely love the new art team on She-Hulk. Totally awesome!

So there's this guy...

...that always comes into FYE. We affectionately refer to him as "Majesticon." He is a man in his mid to late 30's who still lives with his parents and doesn't have a job. There is obviously something a little mentally off about him but he is completely harmless. Supposedly he has super hearing, but I haven't been able to prove it. He used to spend most of his time at Peacock's but since they've closed he now spends his time at the mall. Every day he spends his parents money and talks about their "party boat."

Derek called me from work today because he decided what Majesticon said today could not be kept to himself. You might have to know Majesticon to think the following is funny, but hopefully not.

"I was watching Step-Up 2 in my bedroom, and with the sound system my parents bought me, it was really bumpin!" - MAJESTICON!!!!!!!!!!!

Go ahead, talk amongst yourselves...

I have officially had too much coffee! I went to the Koffee Kat with my mom and now I'm all jittery and sweating. I'm downing water to try to chill out dude. J and I switched to that 1/2 caff stuff, so the real thing really gets me now! Woah.

My mind is racing. I feel like doing a million things at once. I've been thinking about ghoulish things ever since this morning being at the cemetery. My mom knows someone on the planning committee of the cemetery mentioned in the previous post, so I'm gonna get to the bottom of the barb wire thing. My mom's guess was that it used to be to keep cows out before the area was very populated.

My sister gave me this awesome book for my birthday. It's all about vampires, ghosts, and monsters. It's a lot of fun to look through! Also, I found a fun website that has various listings for New York state haunted hot spots: . I want to try and find the place on the Air Base where there's a cemetery and an old crematorium. Anyone interested??

I have yet another day off. So this morning I went for a walk until my calves hurt. It was pretty nice. It was very warm but with an awesome breeze. I tried to sit with my feet in the water but after almost loosing a flip flop and finding the H2O a little too chilly for my taste, I continued on.

I love walking through this particular cemetery. The barbed wire on the fence that you can basically step over has always been curious to me, what's the point? Was it at one time trying to keep something out...or in? Mwuahahahha. Also, the one way sign seems a little morbidly funny as far as placement goes...

On a side note about this cemetery, it is one of the only non-denominational cemeteries in the area, therefore making it very expensive to be buried there. Also, if you switch the first n and m in denominational you spell demon....coincidence?

does it always look like rain when I wanna go to the beach?

I thought the X-Files movie was totally awesome!!! 2 thumbs up. Great job!

I think...

...the glasses really make the outfit....

In some X-Files news...

I Want To Believe is playing now. Can we say excited?! I think we're gonna go see it tonight!

Spotnitz, one of the shows writers is writing/collaborating on an X-Files comic. It was totally awesome. Read just like an episode, it was really rad. The $3.99 price tag - not so awesome. But hopefully that's just because it was a special #0. We'll see.

If you're a fan of the show, you would definitely dig the comic. Check it out yo!

p.s. Did I mention how easy on the eyes I find Agent Mulder to be?

That one time...

...when we were visiting the Death Star....

I wish.... was the sort of thing where if you woke up in the morning and didn't feel like getting out of bed, you didn't have too. Like, if you didn't feel like going to work, it would be ok. I guess if that were the case though, I don't know too many people who would still go to work on a regular basis.

Observation - I find that people who constantly proclaim how happy there are, are never really happy.

Just a thought.

I wish I could stay home and pet Poopy and read comics all day...

Monday, July 21, 2008

I love..., love being home on rainy days, lunch out with my mom, playing with our cats, burning nag champa, having christmas lights lit all year long, and reading comics all day :)

It's almost here...

And here's hoping for that smooch...

Is it just me?

So I've been shaving my legs for well over 10 years now and it never fails - I always cut myself.

Why is this? Is it the razor? My technique? What?

I don't mind the act of shaving but I dread the seconds after I'm done when the water is washing over them. My legs turn into sting city and then there's always one bloody spot I have to avoid so as to not stain our lovely towels.

I feel as though, with so many years experience doing this, I should be a master at shaving my legs by now.

Is it just me?

Blast from the past...

I'm sorry, I know it's incredibly cheesy but I can't resist. I used to love this song. Seeing Eric Carmen's hair in this video alone makes it worth a watch. And then of course there's that part at the end of the song where they all sing the chorus a capella (my favorite part).

"Teenage Suicide...

...don't do it!"

I wish I could stay home and watch Heathers. But instead I have to go die a little inside at FYE.

Que sera, sera

I love this movie!

Fight the Future!

Thank you George Lucas & Company for totally ripping off the X-Files ending for the latest installment of Indiana Jones. X-Files:Fight the Future is totally awesome. Loved it! Of course I kept waiting for the smooch that never (almost) happened. But almost doesn't count. Lucas must have liked the idea of an alien space ship coming up from below the earth and then taking off into space so much, that that's how he decided to end his movie too! Oh well, he can't help it if the X-Files are way cool!

On a kind of related note, please look at this ridiculous crap we're now selling at FYE. What will they think of next?!

Yoshi's thought of the day...

Dear Computer,

Why must you be so hard for me to understand?

Angrily yours,

This weekend was....

totally awesome! Friday night included more fireworks and some drinks at the pub. My sister was here for the night, so that was cool. Then Saturday was full of fun in the sun (a little too much sun for J.). We watched bands play downtown as part of the Mayor's Cup extravaganza. Then it was off to the pub again with Sean & Bec, where we consumed alcohol and good food. The late afternoon/early evening buzz made it bearable to walk home in the heat. To end the night we went and saw Hellboy 2, which was real good.

Mayor's Cup fun: 4 stars

This is too hot for me! I wish there was a lake or pool in our backyard. I'm reaching my breaking point. The only good thing about having to work today is the air conditioning....

Uh oh...

I just knocked a gnat into my wine glass. What am I supposed to do?

-It's 1/3 full
-I'm not dumping it out
-It's swimming around, trying to get out
-I tried drinking it with the gnat in there but I'm getting nervous that I will swallow it
-When you swallow a gnat they tend to stick to the back of your throat
-This has happened a lot lately while bike riding

Ok, my fingers are going in.....I got it's still alive....

....and now it's drunk....and I can finish my glass of wine....

...Oh, what a wild & crazy life I lead...

I think I could totally rock a keytar. Just a thought. Anyone have one that I could try out? I think it would totally rule. I've also wanted a tambourine for a while. I think I could rock that too.

Also, I can play "Smoke on the Water" on a kazoo. If you know anyone who needs that sort of talent, let me know!

But I think I would really enjoy a keytar, seriously.

Could it be?

So I was sitting outside waiting for my dad and this dude drove by that looked just like Dwight from The Office - no joke! If not for being in Plattsburgh, I might've actually for a second believed it was him. At any rate, it made me smile at the thought of seeing Dwight drive by my apartment.

On a quick side note - when you Google "Dwight," his pictures are the first things that come up in images :)

I officially finished my 5 week practicum this past Thursday.

So my 5 weeks actually turned into 7, but who's counting?

I saw some crazy things, gross things, sad things, funny things. All in all it was a great experience. The hardest to swallow is seeing how some people end up being in the business for all the wrong reasons. But I will keep myself separated from the likes of them and stick with the good eggs, and believe me, there are definitely some good ones!

p.s. I totally want me own DIY casket. I think they make excellent coffee tables in the mean time!

This is totally awesome!!!

Up too late...

So I know that this is my own fault for having the TV on in the first place. But J and I just came home from a wonderful night of celebration with Bate & Kill and I'm still drinking. Anyway, back to the TV. Who the hell does Taylor Hicks think he is? He should not be allowed to try to sing "Dancing In The Dark." It's just obnoxious and does not sound the least bit good. No one, and I do mean no one, should try to emulate The Boss, got it? I just have to mention that this is a PBS special featuring Huey Lewis and this is all being hosted by Mr. Jimmy Smitts. It's all around suck but is pretty much on for some background distraction. I mean I shouldn't really complain because I refuse to pay for cable so I am left at the mercy of the antenna, but I still find it odd that this is my only real option other than an infomercial on hair implants or that stupid poker show. Seriously, who can sit there and watch a card game on TV? That just seems weird to me. Happy 4th of July suckas!

For Your Entertainment...

"Thank you for calling FYE, home of the backstage pass. How may I help you?"

Yup, back at the 'ole FYE for the remainder of the summer. Oh well, I suppose it could be worse, it could be food service...

Oh FYE, how I haven't missed you and how you suck my soul least I'm not a manager this time around - no returns, exchanges, buy backs, anything...smooth sailing as far as retail life goes.

P.S. Evidently I decided to go back to work on Canada Day...I think you all know what that means to me...QUEBEC QUIOS!

circa 2004 (I think)
